Join us for a unique 80-minute tour where passenger trains don’t normally go! Usually hidden from public view, this tour presents a rare opportunity to traverse Sydney’s freight-only rail network, and see what goes into keeping Australia’s largest city moving behind the scenes.
Starting at Central, our train will run to Regents Park via Lidcombe, where we will divert onto the Sydney Freight Network at Sefton Park Junction. Continuing to Chullora, we will pass the Sydney Freight Terminal and the Chullora Industrial Sidings, before heading past Enfield Marshalling Yard and the NSW Ports Enfield Intermodal Logistics Centre.
Then on to Meeks Road Junction, home of the XPT Service Centre, where we part ways with the freight line to Port Botany and rejoin the passenger network at Sydenham. We finish with a dash through Southern Sydney back to Central, past the new construction at the Marrickville Sydney Metro Trains Facility.
Join us for a scenic day journey to the Illawarra and Southern Highlands – enjoy the rugged natural beauty of the Royal National Park and spectacular coastal scenery along the south coast from Stanwell Tops through to Wollongong and Unanderra. Marvel as our vintage diesel locomotive tackles the steep grades up the Illawarra Escarpment, and enjoy the transition from coastal views to magnificent rainforest from the comfort of our beautifully restored heritage carriages.
A lookout stop is made at the top of the climb at Summit Tank before continuing on to historic Robertson, where most passengers alight to explore the town’s rustic charms and enjoy a leisurely lunch. Alternatively you can continue through to Moss Vale on selected trips, where the train turns around before returning to Robertson. We then make the journey back to Sydney, traversing the same spectacular route while the sun sets and arriving back in Sydney prior to 7pm – a truly unforgettable day!
The Riverboat Postman still provides a vital mail service to the bays and inlets of the Hawkesbury River, and now doubles as a tourist experience including a Ploughman’s lunch, complete with commentary from the skipper. The MV Saratoga undertakes a 1.5-hour cruise of Brisbane Water before stopping for lunch at the Broadwater Restaurant at Davistown RSL. Our train is also equipped with a licensed buffet serving tea, coffee, alcoholic refreshments and snacks throughout the trip, returning to Sydney by around 5:50pm.

Explore the delights of the Blue Mountains National Park and its mountain communities as we take you to Leura, Katoomba, Medlow Bath and Lithgow, hauled by diesel locomotives and featuring our beautifully restored and maintained carriages.
Winding through the valleys and along the ridgelines of the Great Dividing Range, witness the spectacular sandstone escarpments and canyons, and see the famous eucalyptus forests which give the area its name and distinctive appearance.
Let us take care of the driving as you sit back, relax, and enjoy the incredible scenery that led to the Blue Mountains area being added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. Make your choice of lunch venue at one of the magical towns we stop at – fine dining options include the iconic Hydro Majestic in Medlow Bath, and the Carrington Hotel in Katoomba.
Sit back and enjoy the spectacular scenery as our vintage train crosses the Great Dividing Range, conquering the rugged Blue Mountains before descending through the ten tunnels to Lithgow. From here we continue to Wallerawang and before joining the old Mudgee country branch line passing through Piper’s Flat, Portland, Ben Bullen, Clandulla and Charbon, travelling through the magnificent Capertee Valley, the largest canyon formation in the Southern Hemisphere.
We arrive in the picturesque village of Kandos at around 1pm where passengers disembark for lunch, with ample time provided to eat and explore the history of this lovely country town. The train performs a shuttle to Rylstone and return for the locals before passengers rejoin for the return to Sydney, arriving back at around 9pm. Our train is equipped with a licensed buffet serving tea, coffee, alcoholic refreshments and snacks throughout the journey.
