Explore the delights of the Blue Mountains National Park and its mountain communities as we take you to Leura*, Katoomba, Medlow Bath and Lithgow*, hauled by diesel locomotives and featuring our beautifully restored and maintained carriages.

The Blue Mountaineer leaves Sydney Terminal and takes you through the west of Sydney across the Cumberland plain, before ascending the steep grades of the Blue Mountains. Our train treads the path of ‘The Heron’ – the former Central to Lithgow commuter service, and companion train to the famous ‘Fish’ and ‘Chips’. Winding through the valleys and along the ridgelines of the Great Dividing Range, witness the spectacular sandstone escarpments and canyons, and see the famous eucalyptus forests which give the area its name and distinctive appearance.

Let us take care of the driving as you sit back, relax, and enjoy the incredible scenery that led to the Blue Mountains area being added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
